The LadyBeatles are longtime friends and Beatles fans from Adelaide, South Australia.
With replica guitars, suits, Sgt. Pepper dresses and sassy quips, they accurately and adoringly replicate the Beatles sound and spirit - the main difference of course, being those girl-group harmonies that The Beatles loved so much!
The LadyBeatles’ story began in the early 2000s when Tara (John) and Kylie (Paul) were introduced as teenagers, through a mutual friend who knew they were both crazy about the Beatles. They soon became best mates and spent their spare time at each others’ houses, listening to Beatles albums, watching Beatles films and obsessing over trivia.
Kylie had the idea to start their very own Beatles band - how better to live and breathe the Beatles than playing their songs! After many hours teaching themselves guitar and bass, they found Sally (a keen blues guitarist and Eric Clapton fan) who jumped onboard as George. Their first drummer went the way of Pete Best, and soon their true Ringo, Yahna, joined the gang.
The LadyBeatles honed their craft through early character-building gigs, including a residency at a rough pub on the docks of Port Adelaide, and mysterious booking for a biker gang! But it was all a laugh, and while each LadyBeatle also found success in other bands, they always got back home to the Beatles.
Over the years, they have sold out shows in the Adelaide Fringe Festival, played at country pubs, theatres, big city venues and even the Adelaide Museum.
Notably, in 2024 they were invited by the City of Adelaide to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Beatles’ visit, with a special show in the Adelaide Town Hall. A thousand Beatles fans, some of whom were there in 1964, packed the Hall and shook the foundations!
In 2025, they headlined the Australian Beatlesfest in Bathurst, New South Wales, selling out their shows and meeting many wonderful Beatles fans. They have been invited again in August 2026, and will be bringing best Beatle wishes from Australia to the UK.
